Backend Engineer - Backstage

Job description

Developing and extending backend services for the Backstage developer portal
Integrating various tools and services into Backstage to improve developer productivity
Participating in architectural discussions and contributing to best practices
Ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of backend components
Working closely with frontend engineers to deliver seamless developer experiences

Requirements

Mandatory

Strong experience in backend development with Node.js, TypeScript, Python or Java

Experience working with Backstage.io (at least 4 years and recent)

Building and maintaining APIs and microservices that integrate with multiple external systems

Proficiency in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP

Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes

Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automation best practices

Strong understanding of RESTful API design and GraphQL is a plus

Experience working in Agile teams and following DevOps principles
