Job description
The Service Manager Data Center, based in Évora, is responsible for the operational and strategic management of Data Center services, ensuring the availability, efficiency, and security of infrastructures and operations. This role serves as the primary contact between the technical team, clients, and management areas, ensuring that the services provided meet service level agreements (SLAs) and industry best practices.
Responsibilities:
Manage the daily operations of the Data Center, ensuring compliance with established SLAs and KPIs.
Coordinate technical teams in the maintenance, monitoring, and optimization of IT systems, including servers, networks, storage, and security.
Ensure compliance with security and business continuity regulations and standards (ISO 27001, ITIL, GDPR, among others).
Develop strategies for continuous improvement of operational efficiency, resilience, and sustainability of the Data Center.
Manage vendors and outsourcing contracts, ensuring the quality of services provided.
Lead auditing and certification processes for the Data Center.
Ensure complete documentation of infrastructures and operational processes.
Manage critical incidents and coordinate disaster recovery and response plans.
Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to align Data Center operations with business needs.
Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of experience in managing Data Centers, IT infrastructure, or critical service operations.
Experience in managing technical teams and operations in mission-critical environments.
Strong knowledge of SLA management, KPIs, and IT governance.
Experience in managing vendors and IT service contracts.
Technical Skills:
Advanced knowledge of virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud environments (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
Experience in network and Data Center security management (firewalls, IDS/IPS, network segmentation).
Familiarity with monitoring system and incident management.
Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions.
Proficiency in Windows and Linux operating systems in corporate environments.
Experience in automation and optimization of Data Center operations.
Strong leadership skills and ability to manage multidisciplinary teams.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset.
Ability to work under pressure in mission-critical environments.
Additional Requirements:
Availability to travel to Évora when required.
