Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines using Python and SQL to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources.

Build and optimize data warehouses and data lakes for efficient data storage and retrieval.

Develop and implement data quality checks and validation processes to ensure data accuracy and reliability.

Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to support their data needs and provide technical expertise.

Communicate effectively with clients to understand their data requirements, provide project updates, and present technical solutions.

Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues in a timely manner.

Document data pipelines, processes, and technical specifications.

Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of our data engineering practices.

Requirements

Qualifications:

3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer.

Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.

Experience with data warehousing and data lake technologies (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Databricks).

Experience with ETL tools and frameworks.

Solid understanding of data modeling and database design principles.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.

Valued, but not mandatory:

Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).

Experience with data orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Prefect).

Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

Experience in a client-facing role.

Work Environment:

This position requires one day per week in our Lisbon office, preferably on Mondays, for team collaboration and client meetings.
