Database Engineer (DBA)

About the role

We are looking for a Database Engineer with a DevOps mindset to join an operations team in Aveiro. You will be responsible for the installation, configuration, availability, and performance of the database environments that support critical systems.

Responsibilities

Install, deploy, and configure database systems
Design and maintain high-availability architectures and replication
Define and run backup and recovery strategies
Analyse performance, tune, and troubleshoot database issues
Manage database environments on Linux, virtualized, and cloud platforms
Work with containerized environments and Kubernetes clusters

Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering or a similar field
Minimum 3 years of experience as a DBA or Database Engineer
Hands-on experience managing PostgreSQL, Oracle, and MongoDB
Experience with database high availability and backup/recovery solutions
Experience with database performance analysis
Solid knowledge of Linux and virtualization solutions
Knowledge of computer networks
Knowledge of cloud services

Nice to have

Experience with Kubernetes and containerized environments
Experience with cloud platforms
Very good English (written and spoken)
