Job description

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer with hands-on expertise in Akamai to join our team. You will be responsible for supporting, configuring, and optimizing our Content Delivery Network (CDN) ecosystem to ensure high availability, peak web performance, and edge security across our platforms.

Akamai CDN administration is a specialized domain; we need someone confident and hands-on who can hit the ground running with edge caching, traffic routing, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Terragrunt), and scripting automation.

How You'll Contribute

• Build & Automate Cloud Infrastructure: Use Python to build robust automation tooling, managing secure cloud infrastructure and handling core networking components.

• Edge & CDN Engineering: Support and optimize our content delivery network (Akamai), ensuring highly available, secure, and low-latency deployment of assets globally.

• Deploy & Orchestrate: Use Terraform and Terragrunt to manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC), provisioning and deploying scalable cloud environments and edge configurations.

• Security & Traffic Routing: Implement, automate, and maintain robust edge security protocols, including DNS routing, proxies, Web Application Firewalls (WAF), and bot management.

We're Looking for Someone Who...

• Technical Design: Sets technical direction for edge infrastructure and cloud automation. Defines best practices for CDN management and effectively communicates complex networking concepts to diverse stakeholders.

• Drives Python & Automation Excellence: Brings strong expertise in Python, JavaScript, and Shell scripting to lead infrastructure automation. Acts as an expert in identifying industry best practices for IaC, performance tuning, and troubleshooting complex edge and cloud systems.

• Elevates Quality & Delivery Standards: Serves as an expert in modern CI/CD workflows, automated testing for infrastructure, and DevOps strategies, actively driving best practices across an enterprise environment.

• Integrates Security, Observability & Performance: Guides teams on embedding edge security (WAF, bot management) into the deployment lifecycle. Optimizes CDN configurations and proxies for maximum performance, resource efficiency, and deep operational observability.

• Ensures Operational Resilience: Holds deep expertise in supporting, monitoring, and operating critical production environments, with a fundamental understanding of how large-scale websites function at the network level.

• Clear Technical Communication & Leadership: Demonstrates expert-level execution within Agile frameworks, driving continuous process improvement. Serves as an exceptional communicator capable of translating intricate infrastructure concepts into actionable insight for leadership.

Your Technical Toolkit:

• Experience Level: Proven experience operating at a senior level in cloud infrastructure, SRE, or DevOps within a large enterprise environment.

• CDN Expertise (Essential): 2-3+ years of hands-on, recent experience supporting and configuring Content Delivery Networks, specifically Akamai.

• Infrastructure as Code: Strong, hands-on proficiency in managing cloud environments using Terraform and Terragrunt.

• Programming & Scripting: Solid coding skills in Python, alongside working knowledge of JavaScript and Shell for building internal automation and tooling.

• Networking & Security: Deep understanding of web fundamentals, including DNS, proxies, and edge security technologies (WAF, bot management).

• DevOps Practices (Desirable): Experience with Git, modern automation tools, CI/CD pipelines, and general DevOps principles.
