Expert Cloud Automation Developer
Lisboa
Job description
We are looking for an expert-level Cloud Automation Developer to contribute to the design and delivery of reusable Azure platform products. The mission combines cloud architecture, Terraform, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, security, governance, APIs and software development for an enterprise-scale self-service cloud platform.
The ideal profile has at least ten years of relevant experience and remains hands-on across backend services, REST APIs and web or full-stack applications. Strong Azure and Terraform expertise is essential, as well as experience integrating platforms such as GitHub, ServiceNow and identity services. Profiles focused only on Java development, infrastructure architecture or DevOps pipelines will not be suitable. The target profile must combine advanced programming capability with cloud automation and platform engineering expertise.
About the Project
Cloud Services is
advancing the platform through a new generation of cloud automation,
self-service capabilities, and platform engineering products. The aim is to
give application teams a secure, governed, and streamlined way to consume cloud
services, while reducing operational complexity and accelerating delivery.
As part of the Platform
Reliability and Public Cloud Services organization, the Cloud Automation
Developer will help evolve the EasyCloud program. The role will contribute to
the design and implementation of services that automate the provisioning, configuration,
governance, and lifecycle management of Azure resources. By applying modern
platform engineering practices, EasyCloud supports broader cloud adoption,
improved operational efficiency, and secure, governed access to cloud
capabilities.
The role combines
software, cloud, and platform engineering to deliver strategic products for
teams across global enterprise. This includes reusable cloud services, APIs,
portals, automation workflows, and deployment patterns that simplify
infrastructure consumption for hundreds of application teams. Solutions will
integrate Azure with platforms and services such as GitHub, ServiceNow,
identity services, and Infrastructure as Code frameworks, with security,
reliability, and compliance built in.
The position offers the
opportunity to work with enterprise-scale Azure environments and contribute to
cloud automation, software development, DevOps, and advanced platform
engineering practices within a global Cloud Services organization. It must
demonstrate senior knowledge and proficiency around the requested skills
together with work experience (min 10 years) in an international company
environment.
Main Responsibilities
The objective is to
design, deliver, and continuously improve secure, reusable cloud automation
products that make it easier for application teams to provision, configure, and
operate cloud resources and services. Deliverables should combine infrastructure
automation with full-stack software capabilities and be production-ready,
maintainable, tested, observable, and aligned with security and governance
requirements.
The role requires
advanced proficiency in Microsoft Azure and public-cloud architecture,
Terraform and Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, cloud security and identity,
platform and API integration, automated testing, scripting, and production
operations. Expert proficiency is expected in full-stack software development,
spanning backend services and REST APIs as well as frontend applications built
with JavaScript or TypeScript and frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.
Deliverables:
- Reusable Infrastructure as Code modules,
templates, and workflows for provisioning and lifecycle management of
Azure resources and shared cloud services.
- Full-stack self-service applications and
supporting APIs that simplify cloud consumption and recurring operational
tasks, integrating with relevant cloud, identity, GitHub, and ServiceNow
services.
- Automated CI/CD workflows to build,
validate, package, and deploy infrastructure and application changes
consistently across environments.
- Automated functional, regression, and
deployment tests for software, APIs, infrastructure modules, and deployed
cloud services.
- Security and governance capabilities
integrated into delivery patterns, including identity and access
management, policy enforcement, secrets handling, and auditability.
- Operational readiness built into delivered
solutions, including monitoring, logging, alerting, documentation, and
support or handover materials.
- Technical designs and implementation
guidance that promote reuse, maintainability, and adoption by platform and
application teams.
- Recommendations and implemented
improvements that reduce manual effort, operational complexity, and time
required to deliver cloud capabilities.
Requirements
- Microsoft
Azure and public-cloud architecture: Designs and delivers secure, governed
Azure solutions across cloud services and workloads.
- Infrastructure
as Code and cloud automation (Terraform): Builds reusable modules and
automation for repeatable provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle
management.
- CI/CD
and DevOps workflows (GitHub Actions or equivalent): Designs reliable pipelines
for validating and deploying infrastructure and software across environments.
- Full-stack
software development (Java/Spring, REST APIs, JavaScript/TypeScript, React,
Angular, or Vue): Delivers and supports maintainable backend services and
frontend applications.
- Cloud
security, identity, and governance: Applies access controls, policy, secrets
management, and audit requirements in cloud solutions.
- API
and platform integration (Azure, GitHub, ServiceNow, identity services):
Integrates services securely and builds dependable automation across platform
boundaries.
- Automated
testing and quality engineering: Creates functional, regression, and deployment
tests for applications, APIs, infrastructure, and cloud services.
- Scripting
and operational automation (PowerShell or equivalent): Automates recurring
operational tasks and integrates cloud services through scripts and APIs.
- Monitoring
and production operations: Builds observability into services and supports
reliable production operation and lifecycle management.
- Containers
and Kubernetes (AKS): Understands deployment and operational fundamentals for
containerized workloads.
