Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled Linux Automation Engineer to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in automating Linux-based infrastructures, with a strong focus on Ansible, Terraform, and Red Hat systems.
This role requires expertise in system administration, security hardening, and project management to deliver robust and secure automation solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks to automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and management.
  • Implement and manage infrastructure as code using Terraform or equivalent tools.
  • Administer Linux servers (Red Hat or derivatives), including installation, configuration, and management of services, system resources, users, groups, permissions, packages, and updates.
  • Implement security hardening measures at both the operating system and application levels, and conduct regular security audits.
  • Plan, execute, monitor, and control system implementation projects, leveraging automation for efficiency and reliability.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to Linux systems, network services, and ecosystem components.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of automated solutions.
  • Provide technical expertise and recommendations to optimize system performance and security.


Requirements

Must Have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Information Systems and Technologies (obtained in Portugal or equivalent).
  • Minimum Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in developing Ansible playbooks and implementing automation projects with Ansible.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in implementing infrastructure automation using Terraform or equivalent tools.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in:
    • Managing Linux servers (Red Hat or derivatives), including developing shell scripts or other scripting languages, and handling installation, configuration, and management of services, system resources, users, groups, permissions, packages (including creation), and updates.
    • Implementing security measures (hardening) at the operating system and application levels, and conducting regular security audits.
    • Managing system implementation projects, including planning, execution, control, and monitoring of Linux Red Hat or derivative deployments, preferably using automation.
    • Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to Linux Red Hat or derivative systems, network services, and ecosystem components.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage with technical teams and stakeholders.
