Job description

The service to be provided focuses on an Oracle to PostgreSQL migration for an enterprise application

As part of common requested tasks:

Conversion of complex Oracle Packages to PostgreSQL, including validation and testing.
Conversion of Oracle Types to PostgreSQL (partially JSONB), including validation, functional, and unit testing (pgTAP).
Corrections in PostgreSQL or application code to ensure operability of migrated objects (e.g., Types, Views, Materialized Views) or to improve performance of converted objects.
Performance optimization of migrated PostgreSQL-packages and functions
Usage of PostgreSQL advanced features: Inheritance handling, JSONB, Index, Autonomous Transactions handling, IN/OUT/INOUT Parameters, Exception Handling, Cursors, Global Variables (not directly supported, e.g., use of set_config),

Requirements

It is expected:

Reliable, high‑quality delivery of development tasks
Adherence to specified processes and documentation standards
Clear communication in English
Compliance with all security, confidentiality, and operational client’s policies

Technology skills:

Senior Level - 3+ Years of work experience with PL/SQL
Senior Level - Experience in PostgreSQL or Oracle Database
Senior Level - Experience working with SQL on relational databases

Soft skills:

Good communication and analytical skills, strong verbal and written communication skills in English are mandatory
Flexibility to work with people in different time zones
Familiar or experience with agile development methodology
