We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Product Ownership Lead to guide and mature the Product Ownership function, in Porto or Lisbon area.

Our client is Portugal’s largest issuer of credit cards, serving over 1 million customers, and will soon operate as a licensed digital bank.

We are seeking for a Manager of Product Owners to lead the team shaping our next-generation financial products.

This is a senior role for someone who understands how banking products work — from business models to operational flows — and can translate that knowledge into clear, buildable product direction for engineering teams.

In this role, you will:

Lead and mentor a team of Product Owners across cards, loans, and internal platforms
Act as the go-to expert on product functionality, business value, and operational impact
Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers, and Architects to co-design smart, scalable solutions
Support agile, outcome-driven product development without enforcing rigid process
Translate business strategy into clear, buildable product direction
Have a high-impact role with real ownership and leadership visibility

Requirements

Academic background in Economics, Management, Engineering or similar
Proven experience leading or coordinating Product Owners across multiple squads
Strong understanding of banking or financial products (cards, loans, payments, digital banking)
Technical fluency and experience in agile product environments
Solid understanding of backlog governance, user stories, and delivery readiness
Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to connect business, product and technology teams
Energy, resilience and the ability to raise the bar for product delivery
