Job description

As a RAN Testing Engineer, you will provide Technical Support and Services to commercially deployed GSM, 3G and LTE telecommunications networks primarily based on Ericsson solutions. You will troubleshoot technical issues in the Radio Access Network (RAN) and design workarounds and solutions to resolve these issues. You will develop strategies and provide consultation to customers on improving network performance. In some of our deployment roles, you will travel internationally and work in different cultural environments. You will be expected to take responsibility for the successful driving and completion of customer projects.

Key Responsibilities
• Deployment of LTE/5G radio access network functions including virtualisation environments and hardware components in the Aspire Lab.
• Setting up lab environment including Mavenir and Rakuten Centralized Unit and Distributed Unit.
• Integration of all components with Core Network and UEs/UE Simulator.
• Validation of interoperability performance of fronthaul interface including aspects of radio conformance testing.
• Validation of E2E performance.
• Test specification design and documentation
• Investigation and resolution of issues working directly with OEMs.
• Create basic scripting enabling fast development of data post-processing scripts using scripting languages, i.e., Perl, python, Java.
• Develop technical leadership capabilities and provide technical expertise to your work colleagues and our customers
• Have ownership, responsibility, and accountability for your work


Requirements

• A Bachelor of Science Degree in an engineering discipline (Information Technology, Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications etc)
• Minimum 5 years
• Deep knowledge of 5G/LTE Radio Access Network technologies.
• Experience working with radio test equipment e.g., VSA/VSG.
• Experience with integration of L1 OEM.
• Knowledge and experience with the ORAN Alliance WG4 specifications.
• Experience in deployment of Radio Access Network or Core Network functions within virtualised environments either VNFs or CNFs.
• Linux and IP networking knowledge are a plus.
• Understanding of using protocol analysers/probes
• Understanding node and network synchronisation
• Native Spanish Speaker
• Availability from Jan/25
• Availability to work on site in Madrid
