Job description

The SAP Specialist Billing is driving the successful implementation, optimization, and support of functional and technical requirements to the SAP Billing products. The Specialist Billing acts in the roles of technical approver, implementer and tester within the product life cycle and is essential in ensuring that the SAP system aligns with business objectives, enhances operational efficiency, and supports strategic goals. The technical lead will work closely with the Billing IT Service owners as well as cross-functional, including business representatives from procurement , finance, and IT, to deliver comprehensive and sustainable SAP solutions based on SAP SD and SAP MM.

What can you expect ?
  • Technical Leadership Billing
    • Lead the technical aspects of the SAP Billing workstream, including system configuration, customising in SD and MM, and integration with other SAP modules and external systems.
    • Provide technical expertise and guidance to team members, ensuring best practices and high-quality deliverables.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for all technical issues related to function in SAP SD and MM.
  • System Design and Implementation:
    • Design and implement SAP Billing solutions that meet business requirements and industry standards.
    • Collaborate with business- and product owner to analyse requirements, translating them into technical specifications.
    • Collaborate with development, testing, and ensure the smooth technical deployment of SD/MM based solutions, ensuring alignment with given timelines and budgets.
  • Integration and Optimization:
    • Ensure seamless functional integration of the SAP Billing workstream with other SAP streams (such as O2C and Finance) and third-party applications.
    • Optimize SAP processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and user experience according to the SAP Applications Lifecycle management framework
    • Identify and proactively propose SAP SD/MM enhancements to the responsible stream leads and the SAP Design board.
  • Support and Maintenance:
    • Provide ongoing hands-on support to the SAP Billing processes, addressing technical issues and performing root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
    • Conduct regular system health checks and tuning to ensure optimal system performance.
    • Develop and maintain documentation, including technical specifications, operational handbooks for administration staff and 2nd / 3rd level support
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work collaboratively within the agile framework with members from business, IT and Governance
    • Communicate open, respectful and cooperative with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, providing a transparent view of the actual status and upcoming service enhancements at any time in an appropriate manner
  • Training and Development:
    • Train and mentor junior team members, providing guidance on technical best practices and SAP Billing functionalities.
    • Stay updated on the latest SAP technologies and industry trends, incorporating new knowledge into the workstream according to personal development plan as agreed with the line manager.


Requirements


  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field is preferred, but not required
  • Strong knowledge of the SAP MM and SD module including customizing and debugging
  • Experience in a comparable position is an advantage
  • Experience with SAP system troubleshooting using appropriate ITSM tools
  • Good communication skills in English language and the ability to work effectively with both, technical and functional team members
  • Basic German communication skills would be preferable
