Project context

The team manages data centers across America, Europe, and Asia, using a common architecture based on Cisco ACI for the underlay and VMware NSX for the overlay.
The role will support daily operations, network and virtualization topics, and data center migration projects. The position is urgent and should start as soon as possible.

Modality: Hybrid, minimum 2 days per week onsite

Location: Lisbon preferred. Madrid may also be considered.

Duration: Long-term mission, expected to last several years

Start date: ASAP

Language: Fluent English mandatory. Portuguese required for the Lisbon-based position.

Goals and deliverables

Manage and support global data center network and virtualization environments.
Operate Cisco ACI underlay and VMware NSX overlay components.
Troubleshoot interactions between physical and virtual network layers.
Work on VXLAN, OSPF, BGP, and related network protocols.
Support data center migration projects, including migrations involving France, Germany, Switzerland, and Singapore.
Contribute to the design, deployment, and operation of standardized data center architectures.
Automate infrastructure deployments and operational tasks using Terraform and Python.
Collaborate with distributed teams across Europe, North America, and Asia.
Participate in technical assessments and provide support to the relevant technical squad.

Requirements

Must have

Minimum 8 years of experience in data center networking.
Strong knowledge of VMware NSX, particularly NSX-T.
Strong understanding of network architecture and physical-to-virtual network interactions.
Good knowledge of Cisco ACI or a comparable data center networking technology.
Practical experience with VXLAN, OSPF, BGP, and other routing protocols.
Experience with infrastructure automation using Terraform and Python.
Fluent English.
Ability to work onsite at least 2 days per week.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work with international teams.

Nice to have

Cisco certifications, such as CCNP Data Center or CCNP Enterprise.
VMware NSX or VMware networking certifications.
Experience with large-scale data center migrations.
Experience in NetDevOps environments.
Previous experience working across multiple global data centers.
