Job Description

Our client is transforming the future of insurance through Artificial Intelligence and is looking for an experienced AI Product Owner to lead the development, delivery, and optimisation of internal AI agents that improve operational efficiency across the organisation.

This role owns the complete lifecycle of AI agents, from identifying opportunities and defining requirements to managing production performance, adoption, and continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will act as the key bridge between business stakeholders, operational teams, Engineering, Data Science, and Delivery functions.

Key Responsibilities

Product Ownership & Backlog Management

  • Own the vision, roadmap, and prioritisation of internal AI agents and supporting workflows.
  • Translate operational challenges, user needs, and efficiency opportunities into epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Maintain and prioritise a backlog covering both new developments and operational improvements.
  • Drive prioritisation decisions based on business value and impact.

Agile Delivery & Iteration

  • Collaborate with Engineering, Data Science, Design, and Delivery teams throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Lead backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Deliver AI capabilities incrementally and iterate based on user feedback.
  • Identify friction points, agent failures, and improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure delivery meets agreed timelines and quality standards.

AI Agent Adoption & Operations

  • Drive user adoption through onboarding, training, and change management activities.
  • Define and monitor operational success metrics including:
    • Task completion
    • Accuracy
    • Uptime
    • Time savings
  • Coordinate pilot initiatives and wider organisational rollouts.
  • Measure adoption, automation rates, efficiency gains, and business outcomes.

Agent Lifecycle & Operational Health

  • Monitor AI agents in production environments.
  • Manage performance issues, model drift, data drift, and user-reported incidents.
  • Maintain human-in-the-loop controls and governance mechanisms.
  • Ensure observability, evaluation frameworks, and quality metrics are in place.
  • Decide on updates, retraining activities, and retirement of agents when required.

Scalability & Reusability

  • Design solutions that can be reused across teams and business functions.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort and operational costs.
  • Promote standardisation of agent components, APIs, prompts, tools, and configurations.

Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the primary product contact between business teams and technical teams.
  • Align stakeholders on priorities, dependencies, risks, and delivery plans.
  • Communicate progress through roadmaps, release notes, metrics, and operational reporting.


Requirements

Product & Business Analysis

  • Proven experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or Senior Business Analyst.
  • Strong experience working in Agile delivery environments.
  • Ability to translate complex business requirements into actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Experience working with cross-functional delivery teams.

AI & Digital Products

  • Experience delivering AI, Generative AI, Machine Learning, Automation, or Data-driven products.
  • Strong understanding of agentic AI systems and AI product delivery.
  • Ability to evaluate AI outputs, define evaluation criteria, and assess failure modes.
  • Experience managing AI solutions in production environments.
  • Familiarity with monitoring, evaluation frameworks, model drift, and human-in-the-loop processes.
  • Experience collaborating with Engineering and Data Science teams.

Operations & Process Improvement

  • Experience improving internal business processes and operational workflows.
  • Understanding of workflow optimisation and automation initiatives.
  • Focus on scalability, reliability, adoption, and measurable business outcomes.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strong facilitation and prioritisation abilities.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced and ambiguous environments.
