We are seeking a hands-on Director of Product and Engineering to lead an engineering team and own a product, an all-in-one platform that helps data centers, hosting, cloud and telecom providers manage billing, customers and infrastructure in a single system.

This role combines product leadership with active development: you will set product direction, define requirements, and design, write, and ship code alongside the team.

You will own product strategy and the roadmap, hold the team accountable for delivery, and work closely with customers, commercial teams, and partners as we evolve Ubersmith from a billing solution into a broader revenue platform for digital infrastructure providers.

Responsibilities

Own product strategy, roadmap, and prioritization.
Conduct ongoing industry, market, and competitor research to identify trends, customer needs, and product opportunities.
Translate customer and business needs into clear product requirements.
Work directly with customers, commercial teams, and partners to understand problems and opportunities.
Lead, develop, and hold the engineering team accountable for quality and delivery.
Design, build, and ship features yourself across the stack, from backend services and data to front-end interfaces.

Requirements

Hands-on, senior full-stack engineer who still writes production code.
Proven ability to set product strategy and deliver against a roadmap.
Comfortable working directly with customers and commercial teams.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Self-motivated, with the structure, pace, and accountability to lead a small team.
Experience in the data center, hosting, or billing industry, with a solid understanding of how infrastructure providers sell, provision, and bill for their services.
Hands-on experience with any of the following is a plus:
