Middleware Administrator (WebSphere Liberty)

We are looking for a Middleware Administrator with solid experience in IBM WebSphere to join a critical operations team within the financial services sector, operating in a hybrid model (3 days on-site / 2 days remote).

The team is responsible for the administration and technical support of all Application Servers in the environment, as well as the IBM API management platform. A strategic migration from WebSphere Application Server ND (WAS ND) to WebSphere Liberty is currently underway, and the new team member will play a key role in this transition.

The challenge will be…

• Administer, configure and maintain IBM WebSphere Application Servers (WAS ND and Liberty)
  
• Actively contribute to the ongoing migration from WAS ND to WebSphere Liberty
  
• Administer additional Application Servers in the environment (JBoss, WebLogic)
  
• Ensure availability, performance and integrity of all middleware services
  
• Analyse and resolve anomalies and incidents in application services
  
• Monitor metrics and build/maintain alerting systems using Prometheus and Grafana
  
• Develop and maintain operational automations using Ansible and Shell Scripting
  
• Configure and manage log pipelines with ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Filebeat, Logstash)
  
• Periodically review configurations to ensure product integrity and optimisation
  
• Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation (remote intervention via VPN)
